Traditional Eastern Cupping treatment is a method of stimulating Acupuncture points by applying suction through a glass ‘cup’ in which a vacuum has been created. When applied to the skin, the suction created draws an increase in blood and Qi to an area of deficiency, or breaks up and disperses stagnant Qi and blood in areas of excess.
Cupping is the primary therapy for drawing out ‘cold’, ‘damp’ and ‘wind’ which invade the body, causing chills, pain and discomfort.
Cupping treatment is great on its own but even better when combined with Moxa in the same session. This modality is also fantastic for tight muscles in the back, neck, shoulders, hips and legs. It’s now very popular with top athletes training and competing at the highest level.
